The Museum and Library are an essential part of the social and visual fabric of Bulle. The canopy above the principal entrance is a landmark with a form and material that echoes the towers in the Chateau. The concrete walls and sundial of the Museum denote its permanence as a local institution, while the glass library addition of 2002 shows openness to further development and provides a model for the additions and transformations we propose.
Our scheme maintains and enhances these characteristics and provides a new, stronger presence for the Museum and Library and its setting, and a visible commitment to sustainability in its timber facades and construction.
